Overview

Ayodhya is renowned for its religious and historical significance. Situated on the banks of the Sarayu River, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, it is well known as the birthplace of Lord Rama. Winter is the best time to visit Ayodhya when the weather is cool and pleasant with average temperatures ranging from 10-27ºC.

Varanasi is another well-known spiritual and cultural hub in the state of Uttar Pradesh with a long and colourful history. An important pilgrimage spot for Jains and Hindus for centuries, and is the spiritual capital of Hinduism. And like Ayodhya, winter is the best time to visit this city when temperatures drop allowing for comfortable outdoor sightseeing.

What To Expect

Day 1: Lucknow/Ayodhya (135 Kms / 03 Hrs Approx)

Arrive at Lucknow then drive to Ayodhya and check into your hotel, followed by an overnight stay at Ayodhya.

Day 2: Ayodhya

After breakfast at the hotel, set out on a day-long tour of Ayodhya. The name Ayodhya means “that which cannot be subdued by war”. The holy city, which covers an area of 10.24 square kilometres, holds a special significance to Hindus as the birthplace of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is also said to be the capital of Kosala, the kingdom ruled over by Lord Rama. Spend the day visiting notable sites such as Ram Mandir, Kanak Bhawan, Tulsi Smarak, Karsevak Puram, and Hanuman Garhi. In the evening, visit Saryu Ghats.

Day 3: Ayodhya/Varanasi

After breakfast, drive to Varanasi, where you will first check into your hotel upon arrival. In the evening you will get to experience the mesmerising Ganga Aarti, which includes a lot fo crowd participation. You can also enjoy a relaxing boat ride during the aarti.

Day 4: Varanasi Sightseeing/Departure

After breakfast, you will set out to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Bharat Mata Temple, and the Annapurna Temple. Once these are done, you will be ferried to the airport to catch your flight back home.

Day 5: Kinabatangan Back To Sandakan

Begin the day with another early morning cruise along the Batangan River and observe more birds and other wildlife. Breakfast will be back at the resort after which you will check out at 8 AM and depart on your journey back to Sandakan City.
